What is LLM gateway?

An LLM gateway is a single control layer that sits between your team and multiple AI models, routing requests and applying controls.

Instead of each person connecting directly to a model provider, requests pass through one gateway. That gives a business a single place to see usage, apply spend limits, enforce data policies and keep an audit trail — across several models at once.

The key advantage is model neutrality: a gateway can route work to Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini as needed, so the business isn't locked to one vendor and can move work to whichever model is best for the task or the budget.
